Are you as paranoid as me
About the things above the streets?
You stare at everyone you see
You’re wondering, “What does all this mean?”
We can’t help but make history
It’s not you, it’s when you drink
You saw the film so what did you think?
We cannot sleep but we can dream
I want to know what’s wrong with me
It’s too late to listen to what each other is saying
Solving problems in your sleep
Just try and not to think so deep
It’s not them, it’s how you feel
That’s how you keep it fucking real
I don’t miss you, I miss the light
It was in the sky the other night
It was kind of big and kind of bright
You said it was capable of flight
You know what, you just may be right
Everything I do is an extension of you
Everything I see is an extension of me
Every single day you try to think of something new to say
Everything we know, we still have nothing to show
I can take it

Size Six

The same morning comes, the same shadows cast on the wall by the sun. The same argument. The same kiss goodbye and the same silence at the end of the night.
I know that I don’t have what it takes, but I will try to figure out exactly what to say, if we can’t get by. And every day I feel that much more helpless—will it be worth it in the end? Broadcast the reeds, pray and hope they believe you.
“Dominga, in the interest of peace and prosperity, it’s coming back to you.”
What size is your ring? Will you marry me? And it’s beginning to make some sense: my hands around your neck.
Don’t forget, I never fucking asked you: “You want this? How many?” No, you do.
Oh ... it won’t be worth it in the end, and I’ll be right around the time you’re wrong. Don’t think about what to say, just let it roll off the tongue, and into you.
“Paging Ms. Latimer.” Would you have married me? And it’s finally clear to me: she’s now so far away. Please help me, man, I’m dying.
We’re always trying to find a way to fly, just like they do in movies. But if we can't plan it, then we're taking it for granted..

Day Went Blank
03:40
|
|||
I heard the voice and it was drifting down the street
Pulling money out that I can hardly see
The smoky voice, it was lazy in the heat
I could not control the thing inside of me
The night was long and it began to snow
I had hoped the both of us would lose control
The day began to break and we began to drink
And that is when it went all blank or so I think
So they tell me I look so confused
And it's true
You never know what I'll do to you
Please look the other way so I don't run you through
We tired so hard and we kept trying too
I hardly dream but when I do it's of a door
It doesn't fit inside the frame it is ajar
There's something on the other side that's making sound
This is the time I really wish you were around
Then the light inside the bathroom flickers on
I stare in terror as the shower curtain is drawn
There is a thing hidden beneath the plastic sheet
It reaches up and there is nothing to be seen
I woke up to a bomb going off in my head
And it's true
Maybe you don't know when you're dead
Then who, who is going to take the place of you
Who can I let in my head
I thought I knew the answer when the day went blank

If We Are To Die
02:37

For every major break, an eager hook you take. It swallows you whole.
Down the wrong tube, I think I’m on to you. No word from home.
Did they survive the blast? You think that this will last? I don’t know, dear. Who knows when we’ll be found; my beating heart compounds the grip of fear.
Where do they get this guise, mysterious and wise?
Another lie is told, another female sold.
It means so much to me, my darling, can’t you see?
I’m running out of room. The sky decrees my doom.
We cannot wait to fight, dear.
We’ll stay here the whole night, until we get our way, dear.
There is no other way.
And if we are to die, dear, I want you by my side.
I cannot tell a lie dear, no I cannot tell a lie.

"Hey, Johnny. Did you miss me?
Things have changed, boy. Yes, things have changed.
Did you call your sister, Johnny?
Oh . . . what did she have to say?"
How have you been, my friend
It’s been so long since we’ve seen each other
I’ve got a strange feeling
You’re not the friend I used to have
You ask me, “How many?”
As we take off our pants
You are wet and ready
To burst out of your flesh
The way you moved was unrelenting
About as natural as if guided by a beast
Got nothing left except a crumpled fist of ones
This is the ride’s end, I guess that is why she’s gone
Do you know the rule
What a coincidence, such an uncanny resemblance
You are hungry and wild, you touch and ask if I want it
Of course I want it, that is why the fuck I’m here
What did you think the reason really was, my dear
To bow before your charm and eccentricities?
To listen to your fatalist philosophies?
"I’m just an old man, Johnny.
I’m just an old, old man. With old, old bones.
My bones."
